Harris County MUD 396 will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Lakeside Trails Clubhouse, 16125 Country Fair Lane, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. At that time, the Board will consider setting a 2019 tax rate of $0.59 per $100 assessed valuation (a reduction of 3 cents from the 2018 tax rate of $0.62). The Board continues to reduce its tax rate as its finances permit, going from a tax rate of $1.50 in 2009 to a proposed tax rate of $0.59 in 2019.
Because appraised values in the District have increased over 2018 values, taxpayers can expect a tax bill from the District in approximately the same amount as last year. Taxes are due on January 31, 2020.
The District welcomes comments on the proposed tax rate at its next meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeside Trails Clubhouse. Written comments may be sent through the contact form on the website. The tax rate will be finalized after the public comment period on October 8.
